Pakistani Canadian Women’s Society was the proud sponsor of the sixth Annual Vancouver South Asian Film Festival Nov 25- Nov 27. The festival was held at the Simon Fraser Woodwards Art Centre Vancouver.
The main intent of the festival was to promote diverse stories of South Asians through films from India, Pakistan, and other a South Asian countries.
A Pakistani film “MOOR” was officially shown on November 26 for VISAFF 2016, which is sponsored by Consulate General of Pakistan Vancouver aand Pakistani Canadian Women’s Society.
On Nov 27 another Pakistani Feature Film MAH E MIR shown at the same venue.
A reception ceremony held on Nov 27th before the Mah e Mir flim shown, in which
MLA: Hon. Peter Fassbender Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development was the chief guest. Ms. Aysha was the MC and she welcome all the audience.
She invited Consul General of PakistanMohammed Tariq and MLA Peter Fassbender to comments on VISAFF efforts.
Both delivered their views about the permutation of the art and entertainments through their film media in this region and expand the multiculturalism.
At the end Dr. Babra Rana from Pakistani Canadian Women’s Society thanked Hon. guests and special thanks for Ms. Sandhu efforts to promote two Pakistani feature films in VISAFF South Asian Film Festival 2016.
Pakistani community admired both Pakistani films on both days in this festival.
