Dawat-e-Islami Canada hosted a truly unforgettable Milad-un-Nabi gathering on 14th September at Grand Taj Banquet Hall in Surrey, drawing hundreds of attendees from across the city in celebration of the blessed birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This year’s event was marked not only by its spiritual depth and heartfelt atmosphere but also by the presence of a sacred relic and an international guest speaker who elevated the experience to new heights.
The evening opened with a melodious recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by soul-stirring naats and nasheeds performed by special guests attending the event from various cities across Canada. The venue glowed with elegant decorations, lights, and flags, creating an ambiance of reverence and devotion
One of the most anticipated parts of the event was the keynote address by the member of the executlive commitee of Dawat-e-islami, Maulna Khalid Attari Al-Madani, a highly respected Islamic scholar and speaker who traveled from the United Kingdom specifically for the occasion. His powerful talk regarding the love of the Propehet (peace and blessings be upon him), captivated the audience. Maulna Khalid emphasized that loving the final prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is important to be able to emulate his blessed life and to be able to act on Sunnah.
The audience was visibly moved by his words, many commenting on the spiritual impact of his presence and delivery.
In what was the most emotionally profound moment of the night, attendees were given the extraordinary honor of viewing a strand of the Blessed Hair (Moo-e-Mubarak) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him). The relic was respectfully displayed under proper supervision, allowing the attendees to witness this sacred trust with utmost adab and reverence. Many attendees described this opportunity as the highlight of their spiritual lives, expressing deep gratitude to the organizers for arranging such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Behind the scenes, dozens of volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the event—from setup to security, sound systems to serving food. Their efforts created an environment of unity, brotherhood, and sincere hospitality
As the program concluded with collective Zikr, du‘a and salawat, there was a tangible sense of barakah in the air. The event reminded all present of the beloved Prophet’s (peace and blessing be upon him) enduring light—a light that continues to guide hearts, even centuries later.
The organizers extended heartfelt thanks to Maulna Khalid Attari Al-Madani, the custodians of the Moo-e-Mubarak, all volunteers, donors, and attendees who helped make this Milad an evening that will be remembered for years to come.
