The twenty-five-year journey of Miracle stands as a proud and remarkable milestone in the field of journalism in British Columbia in general, and Muslim journalism in particular. February 21, 2001 was the memorable day when this newspaper was founded by Mr. Nusrat Hussain. In 2002, Muhammad Nasser Pirzada joined the institution and embraced it not as a source of livelihood, but as a mission, a service to the community, and a form of struggle, making it an integral part of his life. Since then, the anniversary of Miracle has been celebrated every year in February. By the grace of Allah, this year the institution has completed a challenging and patient journey of twenty-five years, and on the occasion of our Silver Jubilee, we are presenting this special edition to our readers as a summary of the struggles, experiences, and achievements of past years.
From the very beginning, the core purpose of Miracle has been clear and uncompromising: impartial journalism based on truth and facts, responsible reporting of community activities, and the honest highlighting of local issues and events. Our mission has also been to remind the community and its leaders of their social and moral responsibilities. We have always endeavored to ensure that the light of journalism reaches every home, that readers remain informed about the conditions of their city and society, that community issues are identified, and that practical and constructive attention is drawn toward their solutions.
The past few years have been exceptionally difficult for print media across the world. As a result of the growing pressure of digital and social media, especially in British Columbia and other countries, many newspapers have either shut down, merged with others, or been forced to limit their publications. Some institutions abandoned weekly publications and shifted to monthly editions, while many reduced the number of pages. In such difficult circumstances, despite severe financial challenges, Miracle’s continued commitment to its journalistic tradition and its uninterrupted biweekly publication is a special blessing from Allah SWT. This is a source of pride for us and also a great responsibility.
These twenty-five years were not merely the passage of time; rather, they are a story of continuous struggle, sacrifice, and tireless effort. During this period, we faced numerous challenges on financial, administrative, and journalistic fronts, but we never allowed the voice of truth and justice to be silenced. Throughout this long journey, the sincerity, trust, and dedication shown by our respected readers, writers, columnists, advertisers, and editorial staff have truly been our greatest strength and capital. As the editor-in-chief, I sincerely thank all of them from the depths of my heart and hope for the same sincerity and cooperation in the future as well.
Above all, the trust of our readers is the true source of our success and encouragement. It is deeply satisfying to see that our newspaper is still obtained with enthusiasm, read attentively, and delivered to homes.
We remain committed to serving our community through impartial, authentic, and
responsible journalism in the future as well. May Allah SWT grant us steadfastness in this mission, keep our intentions pure, and accept our efforts.
Within its available resources, Miracle Media has paid tribute to prominent personalities from various walks of life in the community and acknowledged their services. In this special issue, particular emphasis has been placed on the services and personalities associated with Miracle Media. If you know of any such personality who has not yet been included, please send us their photograph and a brief description of their services before the Eid issue.
In Sha Allah, we will be pleased to include them in the special Eid edition & your suggestions.
Appreciating and acknowledging good work has a positive impact on both institutions and individuals. We have tried to pay tribute to every segment of our community, including politics, religion, business, women, and senior citizens. Ameen.
Jazaakum Allahu Khairan.
