Laylatul Qadr

During Ramadan, one should reflect, pray and deliver oneself from sin. While the emphasis of Ramadan is on fasting during daylight hours, it is also about strengthening one’s relationship with Allah (SWT) through worship, declaring His greatness, and praying to Him. Ramadan, in its entirety, is a special time in Islam, but the last 10 nights hold greater significance as they include Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power, which is known as the night of Laylatul Qadr in Arabic. Allah (SWT) has made this a night of immense blessing and virtue. In the Qur’an, Allah (SWT) says:
“We sent it (this Qur’an) down on a blessed night.” [Al-Dukhan 44:3]
What Is Laylatul Qadr?
Laylatul Qadr, also referred to as the Night of Power, is the most venerated night of the Islamic calendar. During this night, Angel Jibril revealed the first verses of the Holy Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This night falls within the final 10 days of Ramadan, but its exact date remains unknown. It is, however, widely regarded as falling on the 27th night of Ramadan, though believers are encouraged to seek this night during the odd-numbered nights of the last 10 days. The Prophet (PBUH) advised: “Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten days of Ramadan.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
This night holds unparalleled significance. Allah (SWT) describes it in the Qur’an:
“We have indeed revealed this in the ‘Night of Power’. And what will explain to you what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah’s permission, on every errand. Peace!…This until the rise of Morn!” [Al-Qadr 1-5]
Nights Of Power
The Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr) allows you to multiply your rewards, as the last 10 nights of Ramadan are the holiest of the entire month. Ensure you don’t miss the rewards of giving on Laylatul Qadr and donate today.
