On Sept 14, Islamic Association of Western Canada in association with Jamia Masjid Aulia Allah held Shuda-e-Karbala Conference at Fleetwood Community Centre Surrey to remember the great sacrifice of Hazrat Imam-e- Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala. The program was well attended by the Muslim community. Mr. Hader Khan did very well MC throughout this event. He said that today we should promise ourself that we will adopt at least one thing in our life from Imam Syed Speech either stop lie or stop back bitting and make a practice of our daily life and do the Jihad on Nafs(self-control). The Program started with Tilawat-e-Quran-Pak by Saad Abul Salis. Local Naat Khawans including Br, Muzamil and Br, Abul Rasool Salis, they recited beautiful Naats and Nasheeds. The first local guest speaker was the Imam and Khateeb of Fiji Islamic Centre Alhaj Maulana Abdul L. Naumani He said that Prophet (saw) left for us Holy Quran, Sunnah, and love with Ahel Bayt, and if we love with Mohammad(saw) it is mandatory for every believer that they love Ahel Bayt, and Allhumdulillah we all send Darood o salam in each prayer. If someone in prayer did not recite Darood in his prayer then how his or her prayer will complete.
After Nomani sahib speech, Br. Khan invited Imam Syed Badiuddin Soharwardy, who came from Calgary for this Shuada e Karblaconference. Br Syed said that while he was in Ontario at Niagara Fall at a religious event. I asked with many Arab Origin youths over there, that who was Hazrat Ali (A.S) and who was Hzt Bibi Fatima, and Hzt Hassan and Hzt Hussain, except one or two boys, responded among them.
I was surprised this is the knowledge which is our young generation has and we parents and teachers are giving them. It is our responsibility to tell them about the Ahel Bayt,
After that Br. Syed started with few Quranic verses and Hadiths and said “the foundation of our Dean / Aqeeda is Quran, Hadith & Sunnah. He explained how the Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) set the example of His and his family sacrifice for Kalama e Haq for Dean e Islam till rest of life. He said Prophet(saw) said: “Zikar e Anbia is Ibidah and praise the true believers then Allah will praise you”. We do love and respect each companion of Prophet(saw). Allah (swt) granted to Mohammad (saw) first time Hassan and Hussain names at this land. And Mohammad (saw) gave honey to both by HIS finger at their birth. How much our Prophet (saw) loved with His grandsons no one can imagine. Br Syed Soharwardy also recited Nasheed and Darood o Salam in his beautiful voice.
The program was concluded with the recitation of Darood o salam and then after Isha prayer, delicious food has been served.
