Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that the first ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan are of mercy, the second of forgiveness and the third ten days of freedom from hell. As if this blessed month is a month of mercy, forgiveness and freedom from hell, that is why immediately after this month we get the opportunity to celebrate the joys of Eid so that we can thank Allah Almighty for the favor that He has given us in the form of the blessed month of Ramadan.
The command to rejoice in the grace and mercy of Allah Almighty is also found in Surah Yunus where it is said, “Say: In the grace of Allah and in His mercy, so let them rejoice in it.” Allah Almighty sends down the blessed month of Ramadan upon His servants and opens the doors of His mercy. In this month, the rewards increase greatly. The life of Muslims changes to prayer, fasting and worship. The recitation of the Quran, the special arrangement of prayers and Taraweeh and the determination to bring oneself closer to Allah the Almighty is the real spirit of Ramadan. This is the blessed month in which the tendency of a good and true Muslim increases towards prayers and the Quran and why not, it is the best opportunity throughout the year to ask for forgiveness and mercy from Allah the Almighty. We do not know how many lucky people benefit from this blessed month forever and attain a high status with Allah the Almighty.
Along with getting the blessing of Taraweeh in this month, people also go for I’tikaf in the last ten days and worship their Rab ul Alah in isolation from the whole world. The blessings of Ramadan are so great that our beloved Prophet SAW said, “If my Ummah knew what Ramadan is, they would wish that it was Ramadan all year round.”
Along with spiritual training, this month also teaches us brotherhood and love for each other. In this month, helping our relatives, neighbors and all those who are financially distressed is a great reward. Whether it is the oppressed Muslims of Palestine or all those people living around us, they deserve our good treatment and this is a great opportunity for us to get closer to Allah by serving them. We all know that our brothers and sisters are suffering in Palestine. Recently on March 18, Israel launched a series of deadly airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, indiscriminately killing 400 Palestinians and wounding 550+ others. These people who were already in the desperate condition now in need of our prayers and help.
A Muslim is not the name of an individual, but it is a ummah in which every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. The silence of all Muslim countries that are capable of helping their oppressed Palestinian Muslim brothers is a shame for all of us. Words cannot express the indifference of Muslim countries and Arab rulers. A large number of those who are victims of horror and cruelty in Palestine are women and children. We all feel the pain and suffering of these Palestinian brothers and sisters and we should do our utmost to help them as much as we can.
Eid al-Fitr is one of the most joyous days of the Islamic year. This day of the first of Shawwal, which comes at the end of Ramadan, is not only a day of joy but also a means of thanking Allah, helping the needy, and promoting love and unity among Muslims. Eid al-Fitr is not just a festival, but also a way to celebrate our happiness together. It is our duty to give the right to happiness to the poor by giving Sadaqah al-Fitr. It is a gift from Allah Almighty for all Muslims and we should appreciate it and be extremely grateful to Allah, erase hatred among ourselves, and as far as possible, help all our brothers and sisters who are troubled in any way and we can help them.
After Ramadan, maintain the splendor of the mosques and do not limit your prayers and worship to Ramadan alone. Ramadan is a month of training and the purification and training gained in it serves as a beacon for the entire year. May Allah Almighty grant us the blessings of Ramadan, the joys of Eid al-Fitr, and the courage to maintain humility in prayers and worship even after Ramadan. Ameen
Alhamdulillah, this time, as usual great arrangements were made in local mosques on the occasion of Taraweeh and the most pleasing thing is that there were four to eight reciters (Huzafs) in all the mosques and they were all local. We got the opportunity to pray Taraweeh in different mosques and received a spiritual boost by listening to the soulful recitation of our local reciters (Huzafs). May Allah Almighty accept their recitation and the listening of those praying behind them and may He reward all these reciters with the best of rewards, Ameen
Early Federal Election
The federal election date is going to be announced soon. We all have to think collectively on this occasion and not individually to get an important place for Muslim community in the elections. We have to understand the importance of our vote bank not only ourselves but also make all parties realize their importance. For this, we all have to work together. All those people who are coming forward as candidates should blend in with the Muslim community and all others communities too.
Your vote is the trust of the future generations. Understand the policies of all parties well. Are their policies in line with the development of our future generations or not? What are the plans in the field of education and health? Because the future generations depend on them and we all know that these two sectors are suffering from numerous problems.
