My letter is in reference to the BCMA Jamia Masjid on 72nd Avenue Surrey.

I have noticed the fence at the72nd Avenue masjid covered in advertisements. It is beneficial IF the ads are a source of income. If not, then the ads should be removed.
The BCMA permits the advertisements at the 72nd Avenue Masjid while banning the Al Ameen and The Miracle newspapers at the Richmond Masjid. There is no reason why the Richmond masjid is singled out for banning the newspapers while all other Masajid are able to provide them to members as this is a service to the community and especially to the seniors. Advertisements help the community to flourish by promoting Muslim businesses. All rules and regulations for all Masajid managed by the BCMA should be equally applied to each Masajid since the Masajid operate under the BCMA umbrella. What is allowed for one masjid should be allowed for all Masajid. We pay membership dues to the BCMA and not to individual Masajid. The banning of the newspapers at the Richmond Chapter have prevented BCMA members from enjoying community news in Richmond. There is no reason why the BCMA members should be deprived of news when the same newspapers are permitted at other BCMA Masajid. JazakAllah Kheir,

Past Trustee BCMA
