


On September 20th, many people in communities participated in a rally at the call of 1Million March 4 Children. People started their March from 88th Ave x King George Blvd, Surrey towards the MLA, Hon. Rachna Singh Minister of Education and Child Care’s office located at 9030 K. Geroge Blvd, Surrey. The RCMP, Surrey fully escorted this March for 3 hours from 12-3 pm and diverted the traffic of King Geoge Blvd towards 132nd St and 140th St. The people, who are in the favor were already present in the Teachers Association building parking lot under the police protection, they have also carried many slogan banners. This BC’s March was organized by Dr. Zanbka Malik, Liane Bisailion, and Amrit Birring and they addressed with many other speakers in front of Rachna’s Office.
In this March the Protesters said they are focusing on parental rights. The teachers’ group says that the rallies were called out because of misinformation. People held banners with slogans such as ‘No puberty blocker for my child’. Thousands of people rallied Wednesday to protest and support the inclusion of lessons about gender and sexual diversity in B.C. Various communities in Surrey participated. People came with their children. However, the demonstration remained peaceful. There are reports of 1,000 clashes on both sides in Vancouver. The events were peaceful in Kamloops and Kelowna, where hundreds of people from both sides met outside the courthouse and city hall, respectively, carrying signs and chanting, as did rallies in Prince George, Surrey, and other cities.
