On May 29, The Achieving for Delta team captured a big crowd in New Era Banquet Hall in Delta. The hall was full with a massive crowd with many communities’ members.
Mayoralty candidate Mr. George Harvie delivered a powerful campaign speech with his big plans. He said in his speech, that they will fight to keep Delat-free, active work to keep our families in Delta, strive to maintain the great Delta lifestyle, and will keep Delta safe.
He also explained about his commitments is to work with the school board to make sure the community has adequate tracks, taking a leading role, as well as having an equal number of council meetings for North Delta once the new arts center there is open. “Fundamentally, it is about respect for over 60 per cent of Delta’s population,” Harvie said, adding, “It’s about fairness, for all of Delta.”
In an opening speech introducing Harvie, Grewal said he was impressed with Harvie and the caliber of his team. Also in the audience showing support was Mayor Lois Jackson who was given high praise by Harvie for her accomplishments during her 19 years as mayor. At the end Mr. George Harvie introduced his present team members one by one.
