It is with great sorrow that Miracle Media acknowledges the passing of John Horgan, former Premier of British Columbia. I got a lot of opportunities to discuss with him about the BC issues on many occasions, including the Media round table, public meetings, etc. As a dedicated public servant and a passionate leader, Premier Horgan made significant contributions to the people of British Columbia during his tenure, especially in his tenure his BC NDP Govt. handled very smartly the COVID-19. His vision for a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous province shaped the future of the region and touched countless lives. Throughout his career, Premier Horgan was known for his unwavering commitment to fairness, justice, and community. His leadership in navigating the complexities of a changing world will leave an indelible mark on both the political landscape and the hearts of those who had the privilege to work alongside him.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those who were inspired by his dedication to public service. His legacy will continue to resonate in the lives of the people of British Columbia for many years to come.
David Eby will form the Government After a Hard-Fought Election in 2024
BC NDP won 47 seats after a narrow victory, the BC NDP under Eby’s leadership will need to solidify its mandate and bridge the divides within the province. Eby, who became
Premier in 2022 after late John Horgan’s departure, has already demonstrated his resolve in navigating difficult political terrain—balancing competing interests and advocating for bold solutions to pressing issues like housing affordability, healthcare, and climate change.
The 2024 election outcome will likely define the direction of British Columbia for years to come, and the BC NDP’s ability to maintain control amid the Conservative surge will depend on how effectively they can manage their diverse coalition and connect with voters on the key issues. The governing BC NDP’s 47 MLAs were officially sworn in at a ceremony at the B.C. legislature on Oct 13, 2024
Muslim candidates’ vote turnover was so good in the BC election
This time more than 9 candidates have participated in Election BC. For the first time, the Muslim candidate from Surrey-Central riding BC NDP Amana Shah became a Member of the Legislature Assembly(MLA) after a tough fight in re-counting with BC Conservative strong candidate Zeeshan Wahla. A great turnover has been seen in their ridings. The Muslim community in British Columbia might have become more politically engaged, with a higher number of voters turning out to support more than 9 candidates who represented their values, issues, and concerns. This could signal a broader trend of political mobilization among minority groups in the province.
Strong support for Muslim candidates would contribute to a more inclusive and representative political environment in BC. It would reflect the growing importance of diverse voices in shaping policy, particularly in a multicultural province like
British Columbia.
Muslim candidates, like those in other communities, likely focus on a wide range of issues, from social justice and human rights to economic equality, housing, and healthcare. Their platforms may resonate with both their communities and voters who care about these pressing issues.
A strong performance from Muslim candidates could suggest that voters in BC are increasingly looking for leadership that reflects the province’s diversity. It would also signal that political parties are becoming more attuned to the needs of a changing electorate, which includes recognizing the importance of minority groups in elections.
How the Muslim candidates are successful in 2024, would be a powerful statement about the direction in which BC politics is heading. More diverse and inclusive representation in government helps ensure that policies reflect the needs of all citizens.
Now we should get ready for Federal Election Nov 2025, make a strategy to involve in political parties.
