We are extremely delighted to announce that Mohtarma Huma Shoaib, President of The Canada Urdu Association has been awarded one of this year’s VAHMS recognition awards for her individual contributions to her professional and community endeavors.
The Vancouver Heritage Month Society is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and have been doing a magnificent job for a long time raising voices and profiles of those in the Pan-Asian community. According to their website:
“Every year, VAHMS (explore ASIAN) awards three individuals, community organizations, or educational institutions representing Pan-Asian communities that have made significant contributions to VAHMS’ vision of fostering, promoting and celebrating the arts and cultural diversity that Asian-Canadian communities bring to Canadian society.”
