The Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Janbaz Khan, celebrated republic Day of Pakistan on 23rd March in a simple and limited gathering in the presence of Pakistan‘s Vancouver Consulate Office Staff Members and local Pakistani Media including representatives from Canadian Muslim Media Club, Mr. Naveed Waraich(President),
Mr. Tarik Kiani(Gen. Secretary)Mr. Naseer Pirzada (Vice President) as well as Mr.
Intikhab Ahmed (Dil Apna Pakistan), and Ms. Shahana Haqi(Urdu Journal).
The graceful ceremony was held at the residence of the Consul General of Pakistan in West Vancouver and was telecasted live through Media Groups via social media.
Ms. Areeba Rauf, secretary of Consul General was the master of ceremony. The ceremony started with the recitation of Quran by Mr. Abdul Malik.
Ms. Areeba welcomed everyone who joined to commemorate at the 81st Anniversary of Lahore Resolution(Qarardad-e-Pakistan), which was presented by A. K. Fazlul Huq this Day and accepted by all India Muslim League Committee next day. After briefly describing Pakistan’s history, she requested the Consul General to hoist Pakistan’s flag . As Pakistan’s national anthem played in the background, Mr. Janbaz Khan raised the flag with beautiful West Vancouver in the background. After the ceremony,
Mr. Khan welcomed Media and then read messages from Mr. Arif Alvi, President of
Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan. After their messages, he said that “I would like to thank you all for being a wonderful Ambassadors of Pakistan and for protecting and safeguarding its interests in Canada. Your love and attachment for your country of origin is exemplary. Let us make a resolve today that while being a law-abiding and loyal citizen of Canada, you will continue to care for Pakistan and work for its better image and its promotion in your respective areas.”
After the ceremony, a short discussion held between Consul General and Media.
