(Calgary) Islamic Supreme Council of Canada (ISCC) and Muslims Against Terrorism (MAT) strongly condemn attacks on Americans and Canadians of Asian descent. The recent violent attack on a Chinese immigrant in Harlem, New York shows that racism and violent attacks on visible minorities are on the rise. Both US and Canadian governments are not doing enough to stop these attacks.
“The attack on any visible minor
ity immigrant is an attack on all visible minorities in Canada OR the US. We must stand together to fight racism and violence against all minorities”, Imam Soharwardy said today.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Chinese, Koreans, and other visible minority immigrants.
The violence and discrimination against immigrants must stop.
