On March 30, 2022, Mosaic Seniors Care Society, a newly formed non-profit organization, introduced their plans for operating an assisted living home in Surrey to cater towards Muslim seniors. The Gateway Assisted Living residence was acquired in July 2021 and has 60 government subsidized beds. The homeis located at 13878 100 Avenue in Surrey. To live at the residence, an individual must be approved by the Fraser Health Authority for admission.
Fraser Health follows established criteria to assess the health care needs of seniors applying for these subsidized services. The program includes 3 meals a day, health care services provided by registered professionals, activities, and a mix of studio and one bedroom suites. Mosaic plans to provide additional services to seniors in the future. More info is available on the Mosaic website at: www.mosaicseniorssociety.com.
To access these assisted living services one must apply directly with Fraser Health and if approved by the health authority, ask to have Gateway Assisted Living in Surrey as their preferred site for placement. Info on the assisted living program offered by Fraser Health can be found by calling their home health services line at 1-855-412-2121 or please refer to the Fraser Health Authority website atwww.fraserhealth.ca/health-topics-a-to-z/assisted-living.
