One man is dead and another sustained minor injuries after a shooting Tuesday evening in Surrey, B.C.
The Surrey Police Service says officers responded just before 7 p.m. to reports of shots fired into a vehicle in the 6800 block of 148 Street in the city’s Newton area. One man with gunshot wounds was declared dead at the scene while another man was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said. A spokesperson for B.C. “Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” the agency said in an emailed statement.
Investigators say no arrests have been made and there is no information on possible suspects. A burned vehicle was discovered roughly 45 minutes after the shooting in an alleyway several blocks from the scene of the gunfire.
