The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever pays the zakat on his wealth will have its evil removed from him” (Ibn Khuzaimah and at-Tabarani).
Zakat is a beautiful concept and life-changing practice. Zakat is a pillar in the life of a Muslim as a form of almsgiving prescribed upon every able individual and collected by the Muslim community to give to those in need. It is a contribution towards the greater good of all humanity, connecting the giver in bonds of concern and equality with all others.
Generally, one would think that Zakat or charity is beneficial to the receiver only, however, in Islam the benefits of Zakat go both ways. Zakat means “that which purifies”, and acts as a purification of your wealth and life while it is also an act of care, compassion, and love for others. The special quality and impact of Zakat is highlighted in the Qur’an, as it is always mentioned next to prayer in its significance:
“And establish prayer and give Zakat, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah.” (2:110)
This Ramadan, give and receive the benefits of Zakat by donating your Zakat
