Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada’s Conservatives and the Official Opposition, released the following statement in response to the Liberal government’s Fall Economic Statement:
“Instead of delivering a plan to combat the cost of living crisis and secure our country’s recovery, the Liberal government is making life more expensive for Canadians.
“On January 1, the Trudeau Liberals are raising your taxes and they are planning to tax the sale of your home. This comes as Canadians are facing skyrocketing prices and the Bank of Canada has warned costs will climb even higher in the months ahead.
“Canadians cannot afford for life to get even more expensive – yet that’s exactly what the Liberals’ ideological agenda is doing.“Right now, Canada’s Conservatives are focused on proposing solutions to lift up Canadian families with more jobs, rising wages, and building an economy that benefits people in all sectors and all regions.“We will continue to be a voice for the millions of Canadians left behind in Justin Trudeau’s economy. It’s time for a new approach to creating a dynamic, more prosperous Canada. It’s time to cut the Liberal waste and failure, and put an end to their high-tax, high-debt agenda.”
