On March 11, Finance Minister Honourable Carole James invited to a media roundtable on Budget 2019 at Grand Taj Banquet Hall in Surrey.Where a number of South Asian Media were present. Hon. Min. Carole James arrived on time at 2:00pm with MLA Hon. Min. Harry Bains. MLA, Jagrup Brar, MLA Rachna Singh and MLA Garry Begg. MLA Rachna Singh welcome the Media and introduced Minister. After that Minister James welcome herself all the Media and thanked theirs time to join us. She introduced all her 4 MLAS. She made the opening comments on Budget 2019 and gave the details presentation for half an hour. After presentation, Q & A sessions time has been to media and the media asked many issues included.
• Surrey Ganges Violence
• Emergency waiting time in Hospitals, and shortage of Doctors
• Homeless, Poverty Measures
•Childcare Education, Training, Workforce etc.
• Canadian Students Study overseas due to shortage of seats/funds
• Marijuana legalization delay due to Application of license approval process etc… and revenue generate not as per expected
• Public Transport Service in Surrey, like LR, as per City of Surrey Mayor Plan
• Environment and Clean of BC, LNG, Trans mountain Pipeline Project case
• Portable School to be removed from Surrey Schools
Finance Minister Hon. Carole James answered all these question to the Media, Media not necessary to satisfied all her response.
At the end MLA Hon. Min. Harry Bains made the closing remarks, and said that this NDP Government with in short time full filled its promises in British Columbia, like waved Toll Tax from Bridges, MSP premium roll back, Urgent care Centers provided, affordable Housing, Child Care facilities and BC fast growing economy are our key of success.
