The Vancouver Chapter of Muslims Achieving Excellence (MAX) Mentors kicked off their 2024 mentorship program on April 25 through a successful speed mentoring event in Vancouver. The event brought together seasoned professionals and eager learners for an evening of insightful conversations and networking opportunities. Haziq Masood and Misbah Naseer, co-leads of the Vancouver chapter welcomed all the participants and explain the program’s purpose. Participants then engaged in rapid-fire mentoring sessions, where they had the chance to connect with mentors from various industries and backgrounds. From career advice to industry insights, mentees gained valuable knowledge and guidance to advance their professional journeys. The event concluded on a high note, with participants expressing gratitude for the enriching experience and newfound connections and excited about the next steps of their mentorship journey.
The MAx mentors program pairs early-career professionals (0-5 years of experience) and newcomers with experienced professionals in the community for one one-on-one mentorship. The program is offered in 3 Canadian cities (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) and 1 US city, Texas. As the demand for mentorship continues to grow, initiatives like these play a crucial role in nurturing talent and driving innovation in the professional landscape and strengthening the Muslim community.
