Pakistani Canadian Women Society hosted yet another meet and greet with the Federal Health Minister The Hon.Ginette Patitpas Taylor

Pakistani Canadian Women Society hosted yet another meet and greet with the Federal Health Minister The Honourable Ginette Patitpas Taylor who was elected in October 2015 as a Member of Parliament in the riding of Moncton–Riverview–Dieppe. The event was organized by Mr. Bilal Cheema who is the fundraiser coordinator and event organizer for Liberals party of Canada.


The discussions were held at Mr. and Mrs. Abdul Shakoor and Nuzhat Shakoor’s residence in South Surrey and was well attended by 70 men and women from our community. Members of PCA, PCCA attended the talks and engaged with the minister by asking questions about Health reform in Canada.


The opening remarks were given by Bushra Ahsan, who is a member of PCWS and Dr. Babra Rana took the stage to recognize the members of the group for their untiring efforts and contributions to the community.
The discussions were arbitrated by Dr. Nazia Niazi. Ms. Taylor took the opportunity to thank the attendees and enlightened them about the healthcare reform taken place in Canada since she has taken the job. Among topics of interests were the abuse of opioids on our street, the accessibility of Canada food guide, as well as questions about foreign qualified health professionals were raised.
The event was a successful gathering in terms of attendance by the community members and their level of engagement shown.
