As we enter the blessed month of Zulhijjah, our hearts turn to the theme of ‘Sacrifice’. Beyond the symbolism of Prophet Ibrahim’s (a.s) sacrifice, we are reminded of the profound concept of Tawakkul (trust in God).
Tawakkul is the act of placing complete trust in Allah’s wisdom, finding peace in His perfect plan. It is a source of strength and solace, especially during times of uncertainty.
Sacrifice, exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s (a.s) willingness to offer his son Ismail (a.s), symbolizes our readiness to give up worldly attachments for Allah’s pleasure. This commitment is commemorated during Eid al-Adha, where Muslims perform Qurbani (sacrifice) as a demonstration of devotion and gratitude.
While distinct, Tawakkul and sacrifice are deeply intertwined. True sacrifice requires Tawakkul – a trust that our sacrifices are recognized and rewarded by Allah. It is this trust that allows us to sacrifice with an open heart.
