The awards are given to individuals who have the potential to become
future leaders.
Three young Pakistanis made the entire country proud when they received the prestigious Queen Young Leaders award for superb community service at a ceremony held in Britain’s capital, London.
The awards are given to individuals who have the potential to become the leaders of tomorrow from across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
This year Haroon Yasin, Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi and Mahnoor Syed from Pakistan received the award in the ceremony held by Queen Elizabeth. The royal couple, Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle were amongst those who greeted the winners.

Hassan Mujtaba received the award for the work he has done in educating underprivileged children through ‘Discovering New Artists (DNA), his exclusive nonprofit
organisation that he set up in 2011. He uses art to help educate marginalized young people in Pakistan.
He is the founder of @discnewart, which provides free art education, and primary and secondary education, to students unable to afford school fees
Mahnoor Syed
Mahnoor Syed, on the other hand, began her own organisation Spread the Word when she collaborated with numerous other schools to help hold extracurricular workshops for students suffering from issues like bullying, child abuse as well as physical distress. Apart from this she also joined hands with the Khawajasira Support Program to help fight for the rights of trans gender.

Haroon Yasin, the other Pakistani to receive the award, is the chairman of Orenda; an organisation that uses technology to help provide simple and user-friendly education models for poor children. All these individuals helped contribute for a greater cause and in the process made others vary of the fact that it is never too early to make a change.
