Let me share a very good story with you… There was one very famous artist, he was successful and unaffected by success or failure. Somebody asked him, “What do you learn from your dramas?” He said, “I have learned that one has to do full justice to one’s role. Once your role is over leave the stage and when you are doing other roles, put your full capability in that role.”.
Thats the whole problem. We do not get the jist of our role, we do not leave few things. We do not change with times. The food we eat has to be digested and thrown out in 24 hours, otherwise we may fall ill and the air we breathe in also has to be exhaled out.
Negative Emotions
When healthy things also has to be thrown out what about negative emotions? For example, hatred, anger, jealousy, ego, insecurity, revenge, etc. We hold those emotions for days and months and years. We nourish them and we get used to them, and instead of throwing them out, we prioritize them and relish in self-pity. We get used to living with all insecurities. The funny thing is we sometimes know about it, are aware of it and sometimes are not. We even know how to get help but we choose not to.
What happens if we do not throw these negative emotions out? Yes, we need to keep check on them, they can turn our good qualities into bad, affect our sense of right and wrong, good can turn evil too. Then ultimately it can prop up in psycho-somatic diseases. Scary, huh?!
What To Do
We have to take steps such as prayers, meditation, an attitude of positivity and constantly practising to keep negative thoughts out the door and work hard on oneself.
It’s not that people behave like a crazy person are suffering from these emotions. Even the most educated, successful, beautiful, smart, attractive, average, anybody around us can be victims of negative emotions. We, ourselves, may be falling prety into negativity.
Everywhere
The mother who is so eager to see her son get married, happy, feels insecure when she sees him giving priority to his wife, co-worker who gets a friend in the same job as them, feels jealous when the friend gets promotion. There are many more such examples.
Everybody is special
God has given everyone something and everyone is unique. Everybody has their place in the universe. A moon cannot cry that why do I not shine like the sun or vice versa.
Respect your own self
We have to respect our own self as a human being, we should not let others decide our self-worth. If I am a nurse or a cleaner or mechanic. It does not mean I am less than any doctor or CEO or any successful person in any industry. As long as one does his or her duty, does justice to his or her role in professional and personal and social life, thats okay. In fact, that’s the way it makes life satisfactory. Money and other things are the means or tools to help achieve peace and harmony. These things are not our goals, but means to achieve our goals. This way when we all are healthy and positive, society on the whole will be one happy society.
