Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies
On Sunday, August, 25 Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies hosted its 5th annual Show and Shine event for families and the Muslim community. Owners and enthusiasts brought out their vehicles to display and meet community members who shared their passion for fine automobiles and motorcycles. There was a bouncy castle, face painting, basketball and nets, soccer ball and nets, table tennis and pool table for the kids and adults to enjoy and release their energy! The attendees also enjoyed delicious Halaal food such as burgers, BBQ chicken, fries, drinks, ice cream, and other cool treats! Alhamdulillah we all prayed Dhuhar Salaah together and discussed the importance of praying Salah and the various achievements and activities of the Institute.
We were honored by the presence of the Honourable Member of Parliament Sukh Dhaliwal, local Ulamaa and other community leaders. We also had officers from the RCMP and transit police come in uniforms with their police vehicles and they met with the children and gave them gifts! At the end, there was an awards ceremony and trophies were awarded in various vehicle categories and a trophy was also given to the winner of the table tennis match! At the conclusion, Shaykh Oves and Shaykh Anees made Duaa, thanked the volunteers and community for their
support.
