All praise is due to Allah and may Allah raise the rank of Prophet Muhammad, his virtuous and blessed kin and honored companions. The month of Rabi^-ul-Awwal is the month of Miladun-Nabiyy, the month in which the whole world is decorated with happiness, with praising the Prophet and with gratitude to Allah ta^ala for the ‘Gifted Mercy’, for the ‘Mercy to the creation’, for the appearance of Prophet Muhammad – sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam. Rabi^ul I is the month of celebrations in commemoration of the birth (Al-Mawlid) of Prophet Muhammad, by way of reciting the Qur’an and by way of remembering the honorable traits and characteristics of the Prophet, by way of sharing food with people which is a blessed matter of immense goodness.

Following the practice of the pious Muslims, scholars and the mainstream of the ummah all over the world and through the centuries, the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects (AICP) in BC observed and celebrated The Mawlid (Milad-un-Nabiyy) with the rest of the Muslim community expressing joy and gratitude for the birth of the best of creation, at Bell Performing Arts Center Surrey,on Nov 25.

It was an important occasion for the Imams of the AICP to address the attendees in their bilingual speeches and urge them to adhere to the fundamentals of this tolerant Religion commanded by Allah; while passionately warning against exploitation, misguidance and extremist ideologies in the name of religion. It was an occasion to remind the Muslims of the greatness of our beloved Prophet and what he stood for. He taught us the proper belief in Allah the Creator Who does not resemble His creation in any way “There is nothing like Him”[interpretation of verse 11 – Surat ash-Shura.], the proper belief in Prophets, proper application of the rules of Islam far from any exaggeration, extremism, fanaticism, or personal opinions. It was also an occasion to thank the messenger of Allah, who taught us, guided us and led us, with his words as with his actions to what is best for us and our common good; to thank the Messenger of Allah, for teaching us the meanings of brotherhood and all that calls for harmony and unity; to thank the Messenger of Allah for he was the one who supported and strengthened the ‘woman’, regarded her with respect and guarded her with chastity for what he left us of his blessings and benefits.
Thank you, O Messenger of Allah, you who taught us that you are but a blessing while alive and after your death. And you are the one who said: “My life is a great good for you, and my death is a great good for you.” Praise be to Allah ta^ala for making us among the followers of this Great Prophet.

Together in loving Muhammad, Muslims from various communities came to celebrate this honorable occasion as they would in their homeland.A moving Qur’an recitation started the celebration which was full of joyful, blissful and delightful chants and beautiful tunes for the love of the Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam from AICP chants group. The students of Al-Hidayah school and The Islamic Education School (TIES) as usual shone with their marsh onto the stage, beaming with heads high, proud and ecstatic praising their Prophet ‘the Guide to mankind.’ The Association of Islamic Charitable Projects held this celebration under the banner of ‘Muhammad, a status greater than a lifetime of guidance’. Attendees enjoyed complimentary food and sweets catered by the Association for the love of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
At the end of this huge great even, the attendance was able to seek tabarruk and the blessings of seeing the hair of the Greatest Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
