The Association of Islamic Charitable Projects commemorated the miracle of Isra’ & Mi^raj, one of the greatest miracles Allaah ta^ala has granted our master Muhammad ﷺ and blessed his nation with, under the banner of “The Messenger of Allaah said the Truth” at Surrey Arts Centre.
The program was well attended by Muslims from all over the region. The event included recitation from the Holy Qur’an followed by touching Islamic chants praising Allaah and His Messenger sallallaahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
In such a glorious occasion and in the presence of a diverse crowd the speakers needed to emphasize the greatness and the purpose of this journey Miracle. 
His Prominence Shaykh Abdur-Rahman Sulayman, Imam of Masjid Ahulus-Sunnah wal Jama^ah –New Westminster- made clear that Allaah granted His Messenger this great miracle of Isra’ and Mi^raj to honor him sallallaahu ^alayhi wa sallam by showing him the wonders that Allaah created as stated clearly in the Glorious Qur’an in Surat al-Isra’, Verse# 1 that means “To show him of Our wonders”. Since the belief of the Muslims is that Allaah exists without a place; therefore, it is natural that the Ascension of the Prophet to the heavens.
The Imam also raised the subject of the significance of the Aqsa mosque and its dear place in the hearts of the Muslims, we ask Allaah to remove the hardships for the Muslims in that blessed land. In fact, many prophets were in the land of Palestine.
[The Mi^raj] never meant that Allaah is there or above it or sitting on the Throne.
Allaah created places so He does not need any (subhanahu wa ta^ala). Shaykh Sulayman also refuted several false claims that some relate to this miracle and supported his argument with evidence from the Qur’an, the Hadith, and the sayings of reliable scholars. He confirmed that Al-Isra’ and Al-Mi^raj took place during one night with his [the Prophet’s] body and soul and while being awake; and it was angel Jibril who came close to the Prophet and not Allaah ta^ala.
On this great occasion, the AICP asks Allaah to grant Muslims peace and tranquility, unity, and adherence to the rules of the religion. We ask Allah to bestow on us the bounty of entering Paradise without torture and being with Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
