The Association of Pakistani Physicians in Canada (APPIC) is an organization representing Pakistani physicians in Canada. This was long overdue so finally, when the organization was registered it generated a lot of enthusiasm among the Pakistani
physicians.
The first inaugural event of the organization was held in Surrey Vancouver from August 23-25 at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel. This started with a cruise in Vancouver downtown, followed by one and a half days of an accredited medical conference.
In the evening of Saturday 24th August, a Gala was organized to celebrate the inaugural event.
Pakistani physicians from all provinces of Canada attended the event.
The Premier of British Columbia David Eby attended the event and interacted with the participants.
He awarded certificates to the planning committee members and welcomed physicians from all over Canada.
1. Addressing a National Need:
Until we formed APPIC last year, there was no national organization dedicated to representing the 2,800 Pakistani Canadian physicians.
This lack of representation left a significant gap in advocacy, support, and community building for our members. APPIC was created to fill this void and provide a unified platform for Pakistani Canadian physicians across the country.
2. Promoting Unity and Transparency: APPIC is built on the pillars of unity, transparency, and democratic values. Our collective success depends on realistic goals, fostering youth involvement, ensuring mutual respect and maintaining a commitment to the well-being of our community. These principles guide our actions and ensure the integrity of our organization.

In just 10 months, we have made significant progress, with 361 registered Canadian physicians of Pakistani descent members on our APPIC website and 280 active members in our WhatsApp group.
This rapid growth is a testament to the need for and value of our organization. We will continue to grow, In Sha Allah and we invite you to join us at our inaugural conference in Vancouver. Come meet your peers, make new connections, and help build APPIC a robust, transparent, democratic organization that truly represents and empowers Pakistani physicians in Canada.
