Muslim community from alternative centres and Masjids in Surrey, and other parts of the lower-Mainland, came together to show their solidarity and support for the people of Gaza by raising almost $245k tonight with cash and pledges. A fund-raising event organized by the BCMA Surrey/ Delta Br and Masjid Rehmah, saw overwhelming support from the attendees.
Former Imam of Surrey Jamea Masjid, Qari Abdul Wahab, and BCMA President Mr Asad Gondal, perpetually made appeal to everyone present to support the great noble cause. A video of destructible Gaza was projected on the screen by BCMA Secretary Fadi and Imam Mouadh.
A 12-year-old boy Zaid Umer Ali, of BC Muslim school took the initiative on his own to successfully collect almost $5000 bearing in mind the suffering of children in Gaza. The program was concluded with dinner prepared by the Surrey/ Delta branch. The president of BCMA Asad Gondal, thanked and acknowledged the great support from all the branches and all the following organizations based out of
Surrey, with some of its representatives and members present at the event.
