On Sep 6th, Mr. Malik Ishtiaq – Coordinator Director – Friends Of Pakistan Canada Association (FOPCA) and the owner of a local vehicle dealership – Bridge View Motors hosted a Pakistan Defence Day memorial ceremony at his business lot on Sunday with other Directors and Members of FOPCA. President of FOPCA Mr. Abdul Rauf Khan was the host of the event and ex-Captain Usman Khan was the chief guest of the event. Many local seniors, celebrities, and Canadian Muslim Media Club anchors attended the event.
The ceremony was started with a recitation of Sura Nasr, followed by Pakistani and Canadian National anthems. President Abdul Rauf Khan performed an opening speech & welcomes all attendees. Ex-Captain Usman Khan performed a great speech about martyrs and his career experience with Pakistan Armed Forces.
Hon. Jinny Sims local MLA of Surrey, Panorama Ridge awarded FOPCA with recognition of doing the great community work.
FOPCA awarded Mr Ishtiaq Malik with recognition of great community volunteer and his endless support to local communities.
Pakistani defense anthems were played and authentic Pakistani food was served after the anthems as a dinner. Mr. Naseer Pirzada shared his memories about September 6, 1965, Pakistan, and India war and made the Duaa. for all Muslim Ummah.
In the end, journalists performed their Q/A session and the event was close
nicely with a cake cutting.
