On July 1st, the BC Muslim Association hosted the annual Canada Day community celebration at the Al-Salaam Masjid & Islamic Centre in Burnaby.

The event is popular with the general public and people of various faiths as the mosque is located directly across the street from the Burnaby Village Museum which hosts a well-attended Canada Day party. Many visitors walked over from the Museum to the Mosque where they enjoyed delicious barbecue burgers, refreshments. Children enjoyed many activities including bouncy castles, Slides and balloon. This year, the event attracted hundreds of visitors.

The BCMA Burnaby Chairman with Executive Directors & Women chapter all directors with youth wing made this event very successful. Many political and other dignitaries were present there and celebrated the Canada Day with the Muslim community. Burnaby MP Peter Julian & MLA Raj Chouhan, Burnaby-Edmonds and city Councillors Participated in Cake cutting ceremony of 151st Canada Birthday.
The Muslim community proved that as Muslim Canadians, like the rest of Canadians love to celebrate Canadian National events at their centres with all community members.
