CMMC Hosts Eid celebration Dinner to promote Unity and Community Engagement

Rana Umair, President of the Canadian Muslim Media Club (CMMC), hosted a heartfelt and well-attended Eid Celebration Dinner at his residence, featuring a live BBQ prepared by renowned brother Sajid Hamid. The event brought together prominent community leaders, members, and special guests in a spirit of celebration, unity, and
reflection. Distinguished attendees included Asad Gondal, President of the BC Muslim Association (BCMA), and Arjamand Khan, President of the Islamic Association of Western Canada (IAWC), among other notable figures. A special prayer was held during the evening in remembrance of the victims in Gaza, as well as for the passing of the brother-in-law of CMMC Senior Vice President Intikhab Ahmad.
During his address, President Rana Umair extended a warm welcome to two new members of the Canadian Muslim Media Club: Asim Sarwar and Farzan Arshad. He also shared future plans for expanding CMMC’s reach on a national level to strengthen its influence and capacity across Canada.
The evening concluded with a live broadcast hosted by Tarik Kiani on the Republic Plus TV platform.
The session featured an engaging discussion on the current political landscape and the importance of the Muslim community’s active participation in Canada’s democratic process. Guests emphasized the need for civic engagement and encouraged community members to vote and take part in the electoral system to ensure their voices are heard. A highlight of the evening was the introduction and warm welcome of Zishan Khan, a Federal Liberal Candidate from Chilliwack. The CMMC leadership called on the community to support his campaign, including by volunteering and spreading awareness of his candidacy.
President Umair closed the event with a message of unity, reaffirming CMMC’s commitment to uplifting the image of the Muslim community in Canada through continued advocacy, representation, and media engagement.
