Consulate General of Pakistan in Vancouver Celebrates 78th Independence Day

    On August 14, the Consulate General of Pakistan hosted a ceremony to mark the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan at the residence of the Consul General in Vancouver. Members of the Pakistani community were invited to attend this special occasion.
Aisha Khan was the MC of this event.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Salis Abdul Rasool, followed by the playing of the Canadian and Pakistani National Anthems. The Consul General of Pakistan in Vancouver, Hon. Shahzad Hussain, hoisted the national flag in the presence of community members. The ceremony also featured the rendition of patriotic songs (Mili Naghme), adding to the spirit of the day.
Hon. Shahzad Hussain read out the official messages of the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day. Guests were later treated to a traditional brunch of freshly prepared Halwa Puri, served by Karakoram Restaurant.
The event also gave community members an opportunity to meet and warmly welcome the new Consul General, who expressed his commitment to serving the Pakistani community on Canada’s West Coast. The celebrations concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, with cake served to all attendees.
