On Monday, June 10th, BC NDP South Fraser Government Caucaus MLA’s from Surrey celebrated their decade old tradition of inviting the local Muslim community members for an Eid gathering.
Mla Harry Bains who recounted how the event used to take place at his constituency office saying, “We started with just 20 people and today we are filling the whole hall.” The eid tradition open house has now over the years has become much bigger attracting over 500 people.The Program was hosted by MLA Rachna Singh and MLA Ravi Khalon. Imam Muaz started the program with Quran recitation and a thank you note followed by brief about the importance of Eid by Sister Tanveer. Br.
