The GICC Team hosted their first fundraising Iftar on Sat, April 16th. With the help of Allah first and then the generosity of our community, we collected over $250, 000 event it was. Some background, we have over 41 active volunteers who have been preparing for this fundraising for over 3 months. We had over 100 volunteers who worked tirelessly on the day of who distributed over 2,000 food boxes across the Lower Mainland. They also made the event happen at the Musallah. It was so heartwarming to see our youth rise up and help along with elders from both sisters and brothers sides.
This is the beginning of this exciting and ambitious project for us in North Surrey. We believe in Allah and we believe it’s going to happen. We are just putting the effort and Allah will make it happen, no doubt. Our speaker said: ”This is a Jannah project, donate and get involved in it”. And that’s what we believe got people excited to donate. We had people donating $15,000 and $10,000. We also had people $50 and $100. Every dollar counts and Allah will reward the donors immensely, bi’Ithn Allah (God Willing).
