Sqn. Ldr. Nusrat Hussain (R), founding editor of the Miracle, Chairman Friends of Pakistan in Canada and author of the book ‘The Last Salute’ has announced to carry out a symbolic Hunger strike in front of Indian Consulate @ 325 Howe St. Vancouver from 9am to 5pm on 15th August.
He is protesting against Modi’s unilateral action of annexation of Kashmir to India. Kashmir is a disputed property between India, Pakistan and people of Kashmir. According to Security Council resolutions, Shimla accord and Lahore declartion between India and Pakistan, It needs to be solved by mutual agreement of all involved parties. Articles 370 and 135A of Indian constitution provide a special status to the valley of Kasmir. These articles have been repealed by a presidential order removing special status of the valley.
Hussain’s idea of hunger strike is to draw world attention towards this burning issue that carries a potential of Nuclear War between India and Pakistan.
