ICNA Relief Canada’s Vancouver chapter organized A Welcome Ramadan Fundraising for Gaza in the Riverside Signature Banquet Hall on Sunday, March 17th.
Program began with an inaugural talk by Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Sajid, ICNA’s president for the Western Canada Region. He expressed that the Ramadan Iftaar dinner for Gaza relief served as a powerful reminder of the strength of the community and the importance of coming together to support those facing adversity.
Mr. Boonaa Mohammaed a social media influencer a guest speaker at the event. A variety of fundraising activities were organized throughout the evening, including auctions, raffles, and donation drives. Attendees showed immense generosity, contributing towards the noble cause with open hearts and wallets.
Mr. Taha Director of ICNA Relief’s Canada shared a presentation and highlighted the organization’s various relief activities. He emphasized that ICNA Relief Canada strives to uphold the principles of compassion, solidarity, and social justice within the Muslim community and
beyond. It has been shared that – in Palestine, over 18,205 individuals have been killed, and entire neighborhoods have been leveled, resulting in over 1.3 million displaced people. ICNA’s Palestine Relief initiative is committed to sponsoring 1,000 orphans, supporting them to college, providing critical relief to 1,000 families with essential survival packs, offering scholarships to 10 college students for studies in Istanbul, facilitating a new beginning in Canada for 25 families, and installing 5 clean water plants to ensure access to safe drinking water. The event received overwhelming support from the community, with individuals and businesses stepping forward to donate generously. Mr. Mutafa Sajid concluded this event with a thank-you note to the organizers, especially Mr. Abdullah Javed ICNA’s Vancouver chapter president, Mr.
Abdul Gaffar Gaffari – the event coordinator and young volunteers Faaiz, Daniyal, – Auction Lead Farooq, Hassan, Furqan Memon – sister volunteers Ms. Misbah and others who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring the smooth execution of the dinner and fundraising activities.
