On December 5, Defence Minister Honorable Anita Anand was invited by Pakistani Canadian Women Society for a dialogue with women from local non-profit organizations and community at large. The discussion was facilitated by Shazia Jafry and began with an introduction of PCWS to the Minister by its President Dr. Babra Rana. Women representing various professions and non-profit organizations were in attendance and asked some tough questions. The Minister discussed important issues including racism and sexual misconduct in the Armed Forces and the power of representation as a woman of color leading in politics. MP John Aldag and community activist Bilal Cheema were also in attendance and played a role in facilitating the visit.
