On April 17, The BC Premier and MLA’s Hon. Minister Bruce Ralston, Hon. Minister Harry Bains, MLA Jagrup Brar, MLA Mike Starchuk, Hon. Minister MLA Rachna Singh, MLA Jinny Sims, and MLA Garry Begg hosted an Eid ul Fitr celebration at Bombay Banquet Hall Surrey. Hundreds of Muslim community members joined on this occasion. The program started with the Holy Quran recitation by Shaikh Hafeez Haris, he also summarised the month of Ramadan blessings.

Premier David Eby said “ I want to thank my colleagues for organizing this beautiful event to celebrate the end of Ramadan, you are an amazing diverse Community in such a fast-growing city Surrey. I want to thank Sheikh for the introduction to the spiritual context of today’s event and for the reflections. This is not a typical Eve for the Muslim Community the difficult time you’re a breaking fast. It’s hard not to think about all of the people in Palestine who were so hungry, right now to think about people in the world who are struggling with the lengthening Shadows of war and and the desperate need for more compassion and love in this world, and I just wanted to say thank you.

I think it just reinforces for British Columbians how fortunate we are to have a growing and thriving Muslim Community, and the community’s contributions to business, academics, and science. In charities to support there are such remarkable contributions of the Muslim Community worldwide.
It’s communities across British Columbia across North America as we see this Rising tide of intolerance and hate and racism and one of the things that I’m so grateful for the Muslim Community as we marked together is your willingness to stand up.
Still, some leaders participated in our Antie racism legislation. I wanted to thank you for your remarkable contribution.
We’re celebrating with a billion Muslims around the world is a remarkable occasion of Target. Kick-off that kind of number.
It’s a massive group around the world marking the end of the whole month of Ramadan thinking my colleagues for pulling together is amazing and I thank you for inviting me and thank you to the Muslim Community, British Columbia, and all the representatives so that you’re tonight for your work.
