Surrey Community Alliance (SCA )
held a nomination meeting on May 12 , , large number of members attended the meeting and vote for candidates applied for up coming election for City of Surrey Councillors and school trustees .
Partial slate of candidates announced
following candidates elected to run for Councillors :
Doug Ellford, Asad Syed, Bernie Sheppard ,Imtiaz Popat,Sara Aujla
For School trustee Niovi Patsicakis
elected SCA is a group of diverse communities living in City Of Surrey and concern with issues city facing including ,Affordable Housing , Homelessness ,Transportation ,Schools ,Parks ,Environment. Drugs crime and Hospitals . Citizens are in strong opinion that current leadership of City Hall is careless about real issues and have no desire to solve problems residence facing instead only caring for rich developers ,investors and Builders .

DOUG ELFORD :
President of the Surrey Community Alliance
Doug is a long time community activist from Newton and currently president of the Surrey Community Alliance. He has volunteered for many years working for children in the sports community. He has been a spokesperson for the Newton Community Association focusing on Public Safety issues and Crime. He feels that there is a need for change on City Council. Many neighorhoods feel they are being neglected. When elected he will work to prioritize the concerns of our communities and neighborhoods. “We need to bring to bring City Hall back to the people of Surrey”
“Surrey Deserves Better.”

ASAD SYED: Seeking for Councillor
Asad has been a resident of Surrey for the past 24 years along with his wife and three children. He is a community activist and advocate for interfaith harmony, as well as the founder and past president of The White Rock Muslim Association. He served on the Government Relation Committee FVREB, as well as the BVOR Syrian Refugee Sponsorship and settlement program as a partnership between the WRMA and the First United Church. He volunteers for several charities and not for profit organizations. He is self-employed as a realtor and private business owner. When elected, he hopes to bring Affordable Surrey back to Citizens and shelter to those most in need.
