Heartfelt thanks to those participated in the 21st Annual Ramadan Spirit food drive benefitting Vancouver’s Homeless and Hungry on the notorious corner of Main & Hastings in the Lower
The Program went ahead rain or shine… In this case we faced the downpour of an atmospheric river raining down on us all… Thankfully, we were able to serve fresh, hot meals, snacks and Hot chocolate to nearly a thousand people in need…
We could not do this without the generosity of our donors and our tireless volunteers, many of whom were toddlers when they first volunteered for Ramadan Spirit and continue to do so as they’ve become adults…
Fresh, Excellent Hot food was distributed from Restaurants across the lower mainland including:
Bhai Riaz’s & family Surrey landmark Pak Punjab whose famously delicious Samosas with chutney was paired w Zafar Sahib’s Barakah Eats Rice Pulao…
Brother Adeel Jehangir’s Chicken World represented with packs of their tasty Chicken burgers & Fries…
Special thanks to Brothers Abdul Qayyum and Bhai Mumtaz Khan who brought the hot, fresh taste of Mary Brown’s fried chicken in packs for distribution.
Brother Abdul Rauf Yaqub’s Hot pan Pizza was in full effect with many slices of their tasty pies shared…
New vendors donating this year includes Robson Street’s Jerusalem Shawarma whose shawarma & rice was a hit as was Granville Street’s taste of Yemen, the famous Saba Foods and their famous roast chicken and rice.
Individual donors, brought food in from Boston Pizza, Granville Strip’s Cheese Slap and last but certainly not least our dear Sisters Rawda and Rahaf of Islamic Relief who brought a nearly unlimited supply of piping Hot Choclate courtesy of our very own favourite Chaiwala
Thanks To Sultan Hussain of PCCA & Abdul Raouf Khan of FOPCA for their kind contributions of drinks, and supplies, brothers Yousef Barakat and Bilal Cheema for their support and late night calls, and extra special thanks to Sawez Khan and our friends at U- Haul for their kind donation of our distribution truck.. Shout out to our decades long volunteer and brother Morgan Rauscher for his kind assistance, before, during and after the event
Appreciations to Nomi Malik and Son for their kind volunteerism throughout and their own donations to the food drive , Life of Giving Vancouver’s Yanal Butt & his sister and the many young and not so young people who have made Ramadan Spirit a great tradition for generations…
Respectfully,
The Board of Directors of Pakistan Canada Association est. 1963
