Eid Milad ul Nabi is universally celebrated in the Muslim world with religious fervor and festivity. Bullay Shah Academy and Anjuman Khudam-e-Sufiya too observed the occasion with due respect and traditional fanfare on November 30, 2019, at Delta Recreation Centre.
The program was attended by well over 500 people, representing a healthy cross-section of the local community, and also included many non-Muslims including Sikhs and Hindus, who had gathered to pay their respects to Holy Prophet PBUH. The chief guest at this occasion was Professor Allama Dr. Pir Syed Shahzad Mustafa Al-Hussaini, custodian of Astana Aliya Shahenshah-e-Wilayat, Gujrat, who traveled from New York to especially taking part in the program. The MP for Surrey-Newton Hon. Sukh Dhaliwal was also present and presented a certificate of appreciation to Bullay Shah Academy for its noble work in the community.
The program started after Isha Prayers with the recitation of Holy Quran by Imam Sheikh Malik, which was followed by recitation of nasheeds and presenting tribute of respect and love in the court of Holy Prophet PBUH.
Pir Afzal Ahmed Naqshbandi welcomed the attendants in his opening remarks. He reminded everyone that we are lucky to be born in the ummah of the Holy Prophet PBUH who has been sent as a mercy and blessing to everyone in this world. The very first creation of Allah SWT was the noor of Holy Prophet PBUH and the rest of the universe was then created from His noor. He also spoke, in stirring terms, of the love for Holy Prophet PBUH held by various saints of the ummah and explained that the path to salvation lies only in the love for Holy Prophet PBUH.
Speaking at the occasion, Sukh Dhaliwal, noted that the strength and beauty of Canada lays in its multicultural society. He thanked Bullay Shah Academy for its hard work in bringing the different elements of the society together and holding a successful event to commemorate the Mawlid of Holy Prophet PBUH.
In his masterful and transcendent keynote speech, Qibla Pir Syed Shahzad Mustafa, expanded upon the remarks of Pir Afzal Ahmed Naqshbandi, and narrating the story of Baba Ratan Lal Hindi, the companion of Holy Prophet PBUH, from Bhatinda, India, who was blessed with long life by Holy Prophet PBUH, explained how the blessings of Holy Prophet PBUH encompass the entire humanity and not just the Muslims. Hazrat Pir Sahib also explained the tafsir of the Ayat “And know that the Messenger of Allah is among you” (49:7), and narrated, with examples, the blessings and special mercy received by the saints of the ummah, all of whom truly understood the meaning of this ayat and acted in their lives accordingly. Bob Ibrahim thanked the participants and in particular, Hazrat Pir Syed Shahzad Mustafa, for participating in the event and reiterated that the salvation in both the worlds lays in following the message of Holy Prophet PBUH and the love for His noble being and His Ahl-e-Bayt.
Bullay Shah Academy and Anjuman Khudam-e-Sufiya hold a monthly multifaith event on the last Saturday of every month. The next event will be held on December 28, 2019 to commemorate the Urs of Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam.
