Together, we raise our voices for peace,
justice, and the protection of every innocent life.
It is generally believed that the increase in crime rate in a society is due to lack of education, social inequality, unemployment, poverty and drug abuse. If we look at the attitude and violence of the society, these are also among its motivations.
If we look at the world map, there are many countries where the crime rate is very high and there are only a few countries where this rate is low, including our country Canada, but with the passage of time, crime is increasing here too.
Most of the people who immigrate to Canada come from countries where there is no peace, the rule of law is not respected, and the economic and social system is not stable. Those who come to this country bring the dream that there will be rule of law, peace and tranquility and they will be able to live peacefully with their children and generations in a peaceful society. But looking at the increasing crime rate in Canada, this does not seem possible anymore. There is no need to go far, let’s talk about our own province of BC, the crime rate here has increased a lot. There are many reasons for this. Let’s consider some of the reasons. Social attitudes play an important role in a person’s life. The tendency towards violence and the situations that attract attention to it, in which drug use and the media play a big role. But a positive society and the rule of law can overcome them.
In Canada, there was a huge increase in the number of newcomers under various programs and at the same speed, there was an increase in crime. The question arises whether the criminal records of the newcomers under various programs were thoroughly investigated because the Sikh leader who was killed outside the Gurudwara Sharif was, three students involved in his murder.
If we look at the increasing crime in BC, we see an incredible increase. The number of deaths among drug users is increasing, street crime is increasing and it seems that this society is also growing unstable and violent. The increase in crime in Surrey is such that it does not seem to be part of a progressive society.
Earlier, murders were mostly happening in the Punjabi community, but now for a few years, our community has also been suffering from such situations. Last year, in the busiest part of Surrey Center, where the police patrol and there is a place reserved for two police cars, an attempt was made to burn an important member of our Muslim media alive. Despite the arrest of the accused, it is not known why this incident happened. Just on June 26, a 21-year-old Muslim youth was shot dead by a gang in a parked car on a moving road and so far neither the accused have been arrested nor the real reasons have been known.
This increasing trend of street crimes is very dangerous. People are becoming insecure and uncertain. Some families are leaving the city and the country due to these conditions.
Surrey crime index rate is 64.7 and safety index rate is 35.3, which is among the most dangerous cities in Canada. Crime can only be prevented through the rule of law and prompt justice. After many years of effort, the RCMP was transferred to the Surrey Police, which cost countless taxpayer dollars, but the result was negative instead of positive, and the crime rate increased. The activities of drug mafia and gang mafia are increasing, there is a lack of peace in the city, families are worried about their future and the future of their children. Why is this? Are criminals becoming powerful and the law weakening?
One reason for this is that there are people coming to various programs in the country whose criminal records have not been properly investigated.
Now the biggest need is the rule of law. To prevent all these serious situations, the government will have to take strict actions and make the law more stringent. Prompt justice and strong law is the need of the hour.
The criminal records of those who are coming from outside of Canada under any program and those who are already here should also be checked so that the society can be made safe. Remember, a single fish makes the whole net dirty. If a single criminal is left free, it can cause great destruction in the society.
People’s lives are neither safe in their homes nor on the streets. Who is not aware of the tragic incident that happened recently in the Philippines fair?
Why is it that the morale of criminals is increasing and people are becoming confined to their homes out of fear? In a society where criminals are fearless and the people are afraid, then only Allah can protect them.
Society must also prevent all these things. The youth and children are the class that is most affected by these things. As a community, we have to pay special attention to our children and youth. We have to organize such programs in which children and youth are encouraged to learn moral lessons and avoid evil. This is not the job of the government, but of the community and everyone has to do it together.
The family is the unit of society. In their homes, they should pay full attention to their children and keep an eye on all their affairs. It is the duty of all parents to know about their every activity, their friends, and the people around them. After the family, the community comes in. The community should organize such programs where the youth and children participate in various physical activities and all parents actively play their role in them. To keep the youth and children busy, such programs should be organized that are both a source of entertainment for them and their mental development. By giving time and resources to the family and the community, you can strengthen your community and your country and can lead to improvement in the society. We have the best group of scholars and they are doing a lot of work, Masha Allah. We also request them to further advance this movement and organize more and more programs that attract children and youth. This is an ongoing charity that is very much needed.
Remember, it is our responsibility to improve the future generations. Let us all work together to Play a positive role for future generations and the current generation. This is not the time to sit at home and criticize and each other, but to play a positive role in society.
Let’s see how we can all work to improve society and strengthen the community in our own place. United we stand.
