Whether it is our childhood or today’s children, summer vacation is a memorable time for everyone. No worries, no calls to wake up early in the morning, no forced sitting in the evening to do school work. And as the time for school to open approached, we would realize that now the same routine is about to start again. Even some of us were children among us who were waiting for to open with great joy and excitement. Time has passed, but it still happens. Some children are bored to hear about the opening of school and some are preparing for school with great joy and excitement. We also still remember our vacation time up to the university and often mention it.
Now here in Canada, the good thing is that there are primary schools and high schools for children near your home where you can easily drop your children  or if the children are older, they can go themselves. This facility is a great blessing.
If the children are too young or it is their first day at school, it is a big step for the elders of the house, especially for the mother. The arrangement of the children’s sleeping and waking times, the stationery required in the school, if the school is private, the thought of uniforms, the lunch accessories to take to school all come to mind.
Every day, the mother also has to see that the child’s school bag has lunch, a water bottle, pencils, rubber copies, books, whatever is needed for the class is there or not. If even one thing is missing, it becomes an excuse for the parents to fight.
Private and especially community schools such as Muslim community, Punjabi community or any community private schools are located far away, then there is a problem of taking and bringing from school. Because that time is the office hours of the parents. If both the husband and wife work, then these problems become very annoying for them. Then if there is a school bus, it is good, otherwise carpooling is resorted to.
There is a huge difference in the quality of education in countries like Pakistan or India or any other country. To keep children busy as much as possible, they are made to do physical work from the very beginning. There is no concept of  learning by heart . Rather, here children are trained through various projects. There is a library in the school and children are taught how to read books or how to communicate with each other, which is a very good thing. For young children, this is a very new thing. They learn a lot from each other in this way.
From the KG stage to the seventh grade, the child learns a lot. Then, middle and high school students have different standards and different activities, in which competitions start to keep the grade standard A or A plus. Some children participate in different clubs of the school, music, dance, literature, and sports groups, which are very important for physical exercise. Then there are volunteer jobs. The best thing that can be seen here is that high school children, Masha Allah, take a lot of interest in volunteer work. And in the areas around the school, you must have often seen that during school hours, children are walking or running fast under the guidance of their teacher. This is also a good exercise, which refreshes children in the open air. This is a very good exercise.
But nowadays, it is the era of social media and the rule of drug mafia and for this reason it has become very important for parents to keep an eye on their children. See who their friends are, with whom they hang out and with whom they are in contact at school. Maintain an environment of friendship with children and establish such a relationship between you and them that they are not afraid to tell you everything about themselves. Spending your time with your children is more better than Social media and various activities. Teach them to distinguish between good and bad and tell them what is beneficial for them and what is harmful. Let us not get so busy in the race to earn money that the properties and money for whom we are making money get out of our hands. It is bitter but true.
The life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the best example of light for us in every stage of life. He (peace be upon him) said, “The best of you is the one who is best to his family, and I am the best of you to my family.” This hadith shows how important home and family are.
Being parents is a great blessing from Allah Almighty and the best way to thank him for this blessing is to give our children the best education and training to make them the best individuals for this society. Remember, education starts at home and is under the supervision of parents. Make yourself their best friend, best sympathizer and best confidant. Try to assure them that you are with them in every situation. You must also ask them about their mistakes, but do not belittle them.
Addiction is a curse. It is a fact that today the habit of drugs is spreading rapidly. It is a dangerous and harmful disease that destroys the home, society and the entire country and nation.  School children and youth are being badly affected. A person’s character is formed by education and training, but education in attitudes, character and speech is more effective. Every home is a unit of society and the best education of children is a sign of a best nation. Today’s children are the builders of the nation. Training at home  makes them the best human beings and instills in them high qualities like understanding and wisdom.
Our religion is a blessing for us that guides us in every field of life and our Prophet (peace be upon him) sets the best example for this. Enrich your children with religious education, give them moral education and spend as much time with them as possible so that you do not have to regret it later.
The education of children is not the responsibility of an individual but also of the community and such programs should be started for children and youth at the community level in which they can participate with interest and also get trained.
Let us all pray to our  Allah Almighty keeps our children on the straight path and saves them from
addiction. Ameen Ya Rabul Alameen
