IRGC Confirms Killing, Vows Retaliation
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the death of Major General Gholam Reza Soleimani, head of the Basij paramilitary force, on Tuesday, describing the incident as a “terrorist attack” carried out by the United States and Israel.
In a statement, the IRGC said the assassination reflects “the pivotal role of the mobilization forces in the overall battlefield” against what it called the “American army and the Zionist entity,” particularly amid ongoing regional escalation.

It added that the attack would only strengthen resolve within what Iran describes as the “axis of resistance,” emphasizing continued confrontation despite the loss.
